Kaitlin Groleau to Play for Saint Mary's College in 2017
San Ramon Soccer would like to congratulate Kaitlin Groleau on verbally committing to play soccer at Saint Mary’s College in Moraga. Saint Mary's competes in the Division 1 West Coast Conference, competing against USF, BYU, Santa Clara, Gonzaga and other schools. Kaitlin is a player on the AZURI 99G team coached by Luke Enna. She is currently a junior at California High School. Her first semester at Saint Mary’s will be in August 2017.
Kaitlin has played in the San Ramon Soccer club her entire youth soccer career, beginning with the U8 REC program. A multi-sport athlete, Kaitlin has also played lacrosse and has been a member of both the track and cross country teams since her freshman year at Cal High.
With hard work and dedication, Kaitlin developed her soccer skills through training and playing with her AZURI teams over years. Always one of the smallest kids on the field until two years ago, she continued to progress and her skills development didn’t depend on her size. According to Coach Enna, she played much of her career on the 2nd team in her age group. About 3 years ago, her improving skills earned her a promotion to the 1st team. With more hard work and dedication, Kaitlin has developed into one of the top players in the NPL.
With only 10% of female soccer players advancing to play collegiate soccer*, Kaitlin’s verbal commitment to play at Saint Mary’s is a remarkable accomplishment. We look forward to watching her play for the Gaels and adding her name to our college Alumni page in the near future.
