SRS Player Verbally Commits to Play Collegiate Soccer

Congratulations to Kayla Wyrsch!

Kayla Wyrsch Congrats

San Ramon Soccer would like to congratulate Kayla Wyrsch on verbally committing to play college soccer at MidAmerica Nazarene University. Kayla is a player on the AZURI 99G team coached by Luke Enna. She is completing her junior year at California High School. Her first semester at MidAmerica Nazarene will be in August 2017.

Affectionately known by her nickname of “Kdub”, Kayla is a long time member of San Ramon Soccer.  Two years ago she was a goalkeeper before making the transition to being a field player.  She currently plays right back on her AZURI team. A multi-sport athlete, Kayla has also competed on the Cal High track team.

She is thrilled to have the opportunity to continue playing soccer in college.  When asked by her coach, Luke Enna, Kayla had this to say about choosing MidAmerica Nazarene:

"I'm really excited to have this opportunity to play for MNU. After meeting the coaching staff, the players and seeing the university, I believe I'll be a good fit with the team and the opportunities the university offers will be great for me. I can't wait for what the future hold for me after high school."

MidAmerica Nazarene is a private university located in Olathe, Kansas.  The university’s athletic teams, known as the Pioneers, compete in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).  Their women’s soccer program is a strong one, earning a 12-5-3 record and holding a spot in the NAIA top 25 by the end of the 2015 season.

With only 10% of female soccer players advancing to play collegiate soccer*, Kayla’s verbal commitment to play at MidAmerica Nazarene is a remarkable accomplishment. We look forward to watching her play for the Pioneers and adding her name to our college Alumni page in the near future.
