1) Can I see all the games for a league (filled or not)?

Yes.  GameOfficials has an external interface where referees and club members can see the referee coverage for games.  The link to the external GameOfficials sit is http://www.gameofficials.net/public/schedules/schedule.cfm?group=1198

2) Why don’t I see any games when I go to Self-Assign?

There are three reasons you may not see games when you go into the Self-Assign page.

  • All games are filled.  See FAQ 1 above on how to see if future games are filled or not
  • Your Game Filter date range is incorrect.  Verify that the date range (either a month or a custom date range) includes the next three weeks and has the correct year.
  • Your experience rating does not permit you to work the available open slots.  See the ‘Ranking and Advancement’ page for more information on referee ranking levels and how to improve your ranking.  If you are new to the SRFC GameOfficials group and you are not a brand new referee, it is important that you communicate your referee rating to the Referee Committee.  If you have a question on your current rating, please email srfc-refs@sanramonfc.com with the title “referee rating”

3) How do I get paid with GOPay?

The SRRC uses the GameOfficials product ‘GOPay’ to process payments.   GOPay can deposit your referee fees directly into your bank account for free or you can receive payment by check for a small fee.  The following are the general instructions for setting up your GOPay account:

After logging into GameOfficials, select the Personal Information menu.  Next select the “My Payments” link which will allow you to view your payments and account balance as well as set up a payment preference to determine when funds are to be transferred.  In the upper right side of the window is a link to GOPay training videos that will help you set up your GOPay account.  GOPay can be configured to transfer funds automatically whenever they are received, or when the balance reaches a certain amount, or periodically, and so on.  You may also choose to do manual transfers.

4) Where can I see the games I have scheduled and games that have been assigned to me?

Within GameOfficials, under Personal Information/My Games you can see that games you have refereed in the past, games you have already accepted and games that you have been assigned but have not accepted yet.

5) Where can I find rules for the different leagues?

Within the Group Info/News/Info window are the different league rules.  If the rules you are looking for are not listed, please send an email to srfc-refs@sanramonfc.com stating which league rules are missing and we will work to get the rules posted.  Rules for NorCal Premier Soccer Leagues are also available at http://www.norcalpremier.com/docs/NorCal%20Handbook%20(9.24.14).pdf

6) How do I document game notes if there was an incident (e.g. player injury, coach ejections, missing referee) at my game?

Under Personal Information/After Games, you can do the following:

  • *Select incident report and fill out the report
  • *Select the game number, answer the three questions and fill in the Summary Notes text field
  • *If there is a change in the referee team, explain in the Summary Notes who did not referee and who filled in (even if the fill in was a non-paid club AR)

Note 1:  The SRRC does not ask referees to document game scores

Note 2:  For NorCal matches, Injuries and Incident Reports must be filed through the NorCal Premier website.  Redcards must be provided to NorCal through the NorCal website as well.

7) What is the NorCal Premier Soccer League rule for missing player pass or missing from roster?

  • What happens when a team shows up with no US Club Soccer player passes? Does the game get played, or is no game played and what gets reported on the game card?
    • The game is played under protest.  The team that forgot their player passes must have a picture taken of the team so that passes can be verified if necessary.  All players must be on the game card.  The protest must be written on the game card before the match.
  • What happens when a team shows up with a player that has no picture ID and is on the roster? What do we do?
    • For an individual player, the player must have their US Club Soccer player pass.  If they do not have a pass they cannot play.
  • What happens when a team shows up with a player that has no picture ID and is not on the roster? What do we do?
    • For an individual player, the player must have their US Club Soccer player pass. If they do not have a pass they cannot play.
  • What happens when a team shows up with a player that has a picture ID but is not on the roster? Could his name be added to the roster? Could he actually play?
    • The player needs to be electronically added to the roster.  Once the player is electronically added (via smartphone, computer, etc.), the referee can use the electronic game card to check the player in. Once the player is checked in on the electronic game card, the referee (and only the referee) may write the player on the paper game card. Players may not be handwritten onto the game card.

8) What is the referee game bonus?

For referees that work 12 games or more over the entire year, the SRRC pays these referees a bonus (usually $40).  The bonus is intended to help offset most of the yearly referee license cost.

9How can I referee higher level games than what I am doing today?

See the ‘Ranking and Advancement’ page for more information on referee ranking levels and the process for increasing your referee ranking.

10) What color Referee jersey should I get after yellow?

This is a question we receive multiple times each year and every senior referee seems to have a different opinion on the referee’s 2nd and 3rd jersey color.  See the Referee Uniform and Equipment page which provides information on the jersey color question.

11) Where do I go to renew my referee registration?

Referee licenses are good through Dec. 31st of the year on the license.  All referee registration is now handled through the CNRA GameOfficials system.

For grade 8 referees, follow the simple license renewal steps below.

  • Log onto the CNRA GameOfficials site  https://cnra.gameofficials.net/
  • Under the Main Menu, select ‘Courses’
  • Select ‘Referee Courses’
  • Select ‘USSF REGISTRATION RENEWAL - GRADE 8’
  • Select the button ‘Register For This Course’
  • Complete the registration and pay the registration fee.

For grade 7 or lower, the following webpage provide requirements and steps for your license renewal http://www.cnra.net/registration/

As always, contact the SRRC if you have any problems (srfc-refs@sanramonfc.com).

12) Is there a way to get directions to my game?

Under Personal Information/My Games, find the game for which you need directions.  On the far left of the game row, select the information bubble (has an ‘i’ in the bubble).  The Game Information window will appear.  In this window is an item entitled ‘Directions’.  Follow the link until you can bring up a Google Map from your house to the game site.
