The club provides equipment at several parks for use by its member teams. The proper care of this equipment is important for the security of the equipment, and the safety of those using it. The equipment provided includes goals, nets and flags. This equipment is generally only available at fields where we play games.

There are a few rules that will keep our equipment safe both when stored and when in use.
Goals are to be locked when stored.
Goals are to be stored with the crossbars against the fence or towards the “outside” to allow for mowing around the goals. Nets are to be removed and stored in the equipment boxes at the fields. The only exception to this are the nets at Tiffany Roberts Field.
There will be chains and locks to secure the goals at each storage area (see storage areas below). All locks at available fields will have the same combination, with the exception of Tiffany Roberts which will have a separate combo. This includes any locked equipment boxes. At fields that are not available for use, the combinations are changed so that the equipment is secured.
Coaches must supervise players when moving goals.
Often players will be asked to bring goals out for use at practice or games or to move a goal during practice. Any time players are moving goals they must be supervised by the coaches. Most of our full-size goals have wheels and the goals are prone to falling forward if care is not taken when wheeling them around. Moving equipment and proper storage is the coaches responsibility!
Goals must be anchored at all times during use!
There are no exceptions to this. San Ramon is a very windy area and the goals are very easily tipped over. This is a player safety issue. Goals should have anchor stakes on each side. Coaches may need to carry a hammer at some fields to get them in the ground. When removing the stakes, please do not use the goal as a lever and pull the stakes by tipping the goal over. Please try to loosen the anchor in the ground first.
The only exception to the staking rule are the few goals that have full backs. These goals are located at Iron Horse, and the sports park both on the grass and on Tiffany Roberts field.
Goals and equipment must be secured after use.
As a general rule, a team is required to put away their equipment if there are no teams waiting to use their field at the conclusion of their practice or game.
When in doubt, put the equipment away!
Teams do not always practice, and there is not always a game after yours. At larger parks, please make sure you put the equipment in OUR box. Our boxes should all be stenciled with SRFC, or will have a plaque attached near the handles. Below is a description of the storage locations for each park. Please review them for the locations where you practice and play.
At the end of a game, please ask the teams coming on your field to warm up if they are playing there. Sometimes teams will use one field to warm up while waiting to play on another. If you have the last game of the day, it is your responsibility to put the equipment away. Please get confirmation from the other coach that they will put that equipment away along with their game field. You are responsible for the equipment if your game is the last game!
Please note: Sometimes, the 8:00 game is the last game!
Often times, teams will play at locations where they do not practice or play on a regular basis. If you are to play games at a field where you are not familiar with the equipment storage locations, try to visit those fields before you need to put equipment away. If you can’t, at least review the locations listed below, look for the locks and chains for the goals.
Equipment Damage or Loss Must Be Communicated.
It is each coach’s responsibility to report missing, or damaged equipment. Goals that are damaged or appear unsafe, or are missing anchors are not to be used. Missing locks and chains also need to be reported. Please report any damage to the Equipment Manager as soon as possible so that we can make the necessary repairs or replacements so the goals can be put back in to service as soon as possible. It is impossible for the Equipment Manager to examine all the clubs equipment for damage or loss. Since the coaches are using the equipment on a daily basis, you are in the best position to note any needed repairs.
Goal Storage locations:
Goals stored against fence on west side of field.
Goals stored against fence at north end of field.
Goals stored against fence at north end of field.
Goals stored against fence on east side of field.
Nets and flags are stored in equipment boxes that are in the dugout areas of baseball fields in the middle of the park. Equipment for fields 1 and 2 are in the box between those two fields, and the equipment for 3 & 4 is in the box at the south end of field 4. As a general rule, if there is baseball equipment in the box, it isn’t ours!
Central Park 1:
Goals are to be stored on the west side of the field outside the walking track. There is a post near the drainage ditch area where the goals are to be secured.
Central Park 2:
Goals are stored on the east side of the field next to the fire station. There is a chain and lock at the base of a tree to the north east end of the field.
Nets and flags for these fields are stored in the equipment box on the third base line of the baseball field at the north end of CP1. Please note that the box next to CP1 goal storage location is for the club’s Rec Training Program and does not contain nets for that field.
Central Park 3 & 4:
Goals are to be stored on the hill and secured by chains and locks that are attached to trees. There is one tree for each field. They are near midfield for both.
Nets and Flags for these fields are stored in the box at the top of the hill on the west side of the fields near the middle of the two fields.
Central Park 5:
Goals are located along the third baseline of the softball diamond:
The equipment box is located behind the backstop of the softball diamond.
The goals are to be stored against the fences at the ends of the dugouts on each side of the softball diamond.
The equipment box is located by the backstop of the softball diamond.
Goals are to be stored against the fence on the east side of the field.
The equipment box is located on the third base side of the baseball field.
Gale Ranch Middle School:
The goals are to be stored on the non-baseball side of the park. The goals are to be locked against the fence near the entrance ramp from the school to the fields.
The equipment box will be located near the bleachers on the first base line of the baseball diamond at the top of the entrance ramp from the school to the fields.
Goals are to be broken down after use and stored against the fence at the south end of each field. Place the goal sides against the fence then place the cross bars in the hooks to hold everything together.
The equipment box is the large brown box on the third baseline of the baseball field at the west side of the park.
Goals are to be broken down and hung on the fence on the first baseline of the baseball field on the east side of the park. The sides should be placed 4 together against the fence, with the cross bars held in the hooks to hold the sides up against the fence. Pugg goals should be folded and placed in their storage bags and placed in the equipment box. The box must be locked.
The equipment box for this field is behind the backstop of this baseball field.
Goals are to be stored against the south fence with 2 goals stored on each side of the opening in the fence near the middle of the 2 fields. If a third set of goals is to be stored it will be stored against the first base line fence of the baseball diamond on the west side of the park nearest Boone Acres Park.
The equipment box for these fields is located near the west baseball diamond against the fence.
Goals for the full size field are to be stored near the south baseball diamond on the first base side.
Goals for the U10 field are to be stored at the end of the field nearest the school against the fence. The goals should be stored nested together and locked with the provided chain.
The equipment box for these fields is located next to the bleachers of the south baseball diamond on the first base side.
Tiffany Roberts Field:
The goals at Roberts Field may be left up with the nets attached as the field is secure and single use. The goals are to be locked against the fence opposite the bleachers and shed. There are signs for the locations for the goals and locks.
Corner flags for this field will be stored in the shed located on the south end of the bleachers. The combination for the lock will be the same as the goals.
Full Size Grass:
These goals are to be stored at the south end of the field just past the opening in the fence and past the trees. Store end to end.
One set of these goals are to be stored against the tree line on the south end of the field. Once a more suitable location is determined with the city, this location will be changed. The second set of U10 goals should be stored near the full size goals near the south end of the park.
Goals are stored on the third base side of the baseball diamond
The equipment box is located on the first base side of the diamond.
Goals are to be stored outside the fence on the first base line of the baseball diamond near the equipment box.
The equipment box is located outside the fence on the first base line of the baseball diamond.
Windemere Ranch Middle School:
Goals are stored against the fence for the baseball field.
The equipment box is located near the path that leads from the lower front park to the back of the school.
